This post has been written on the request of a visitor. You can also share your problem in our comments page. I will be happy to solve them for you for FREE! ^_^ Sometimes, even simple LAN settings can cause connections error. You get error like "LAN cable is disconnected", "Cannot connect to the Internet" , etc It happens in some windows updates, or when you format and install a fresh copy of Operating System.
How to solve it?
[follow image description below this, if you have problems]
1. Click on Start Button.
2. Go to Control Panel.
3. Select "Network and Sharing Center".
4. Now on the right pane, click on the option "Change Adapter Settings".
5. Select the adapter with "Disconnected" icon . (hint: It has a red cross(x) mark)
6. Right Click the Adapter Setting Panel and select "properties".
7. An adapter properties dialog box will open, select "Configure".
8. On the next dialog box, goto "Advanced" and select "Speed & Duplex" , then select "10 Mb Half"
[Selecting "Auto" also works but selecting "10Mb Half" will surely work!]
9. After changing the setting, click on "OK" button of the dialog box.
10. There you go, yo have successfully setup your LAN.

How does this work?Sometimes the speed provided by your router or ISP , and the speed settings in the computer for the connection does not match. Generally selecting "Auto" in the
last step given above should have worked but when you get a windows update, the settings can change automatically to receive the highest amount of bandwidth. (ie. 100Mbps) in a general connection with a standard NIC. But if the speed provided by your ISP is really very slow, or your NIC or router itself does not support that speed, then the connection can be interrupted!
Imagine pouring water drop by drop in a small jar and a bucket. We can see that the small jar fills faster. You can use this analogy in LAN connections too. If you have set the settings to very high(100Mbps duplex) , it will be impossible to make a connection easily. So, you should select 10Mbps half (which means 10Mbps simplex).
Additional information: What is duplex & simplex?A simplex connection is one where the data packets can be either sent or received at one instance.
i.e.
Upload and
Download cannot be done simultaneously.
A duplex connection is one where
Upload and
Download can be done at the same time without affecting the other.
Most DSL connections are not duplex. Broadband connections are generally duplex.
